WIA needs your help

The WIA Youth Services Program is in need of worksites for students. The program provides opportunities for out of school youth between the ages of 16 and 21 to obtain their GED, gain work experience and participate in life skills training. Students earn financial incentives for attending class and meeting performance goals.

WIA pays the salaries for these students, including processing payroll and being responsible for worker's compensation. Students do not qualify for insurance or benefits.

Students may work a maximum of 20 hours per week. There is a cap of total hours per student based on their training needs. Once a student reaches that cap, the employer can decide to hire the student or can take on a new student to train.

Anyone interested in serving as a training worksite for WIA participants should contact Leslie Gregoire at 723-5122 or leslie.gregoire@bainbridge.edu.
