Myrtice Jackson

Myrtice Irene Jackson, 72, of Aventura, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Aventura, Fla.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Blakely June 22, 1939, to the late Lonzo B. Jackson and Odessa Sheffield. She moved to Miami, Fla., with her family in 1967 and worked as a private duty nurse for Atlas Senior Services for 28 years. She was a member of New Mt. Calvary Church of Miami.

She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby E. Gray Sr. and Nathaniel Gray; four daughters, Diane Gray, Patricia Hoeflinger, Gloria Bruce and Priscilla Gray; two step-sons, Larry Gray and Murray Gray; two brothers, Gerald Jackson Sr. and wife Brenda and Alonzo Jackson Sr. and wife Linda; three sisters, Hazel Johnson and husband Willie, Brenda Jackson and Linda James; 17 grandchildren; and 26 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Fla., with Pastor Cookie Brathwaite officiating. Interment followed at Southern Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Mark Bruce, Nathaniel Garnett, Nathan Williams, Nayquan Gray, Ronneldon Ellington, Herbert Waters, Michael Mountain, Lakalvin Gray.

Wright and Young Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
