Angie Kinjerski was awarded the Lions Club Young Ambassador award during the club’s district convention in Cordele by Lion Chris Sumner. Angie Kinjerski, a senior at Early County High School in Blakely and a member of the Early County LEO Club, was named the first place winner of the 2013 Lions Young Ambassador award at the Lions of Georgia District 18-C Convention Feb. 16 in Cordele, Ga.

Kinjerski was sponsored by the Cordele Lions Club in this event. The Lions Young Ambassador of the 21st Century program was established to recognize youth for outstanding community service involvement, leadership accomplishments, public speaking skills and scholastic achievement. An active participant and leader in a variety of school, community and church events, Kinjerski challenged the Lions and LEOs to participate “in a world of service” as we serve others.

Lions Past International President Jim Ervin and Lions 18-C District Governor Troy Pullin presented the Young Ambassador Finalist Award and the $150 Lions Service Scholarship to Kinjerski.

Young Ambassador and Youth Chair PDG Chris Sumner stated, “Angie is an outstanding example of what a Young Ambassador is. She has been active in all areas of service including her LEO Club, school, community and church. We would do well to follow her example.” Kinjerski also received a Young Ambassador scholarship jointly provided by the Early County LEO Club and Cordele Lions Club.
