It’s all about you!

“Y’all come back now, ya hear!” Come on back Saturday for the 5th Annual Peanut Proud. This is going to be another special Saturday for the community and the peanut industry. And, because “y’all keep coming back,” the 5th Peanut Proud promises to be bigger and better than the one before.

They’veGot That Spirit!” A lot of people have been working for months on this year’s events, but it wasn’t until the “Little Peanut People” made their way to Court Square earlier this month that the Peanut Proud “Spirit” prevailed in the community.

Saturday’s activities will be highlighted by the Peanut Proud Parade at 10 a.m., the Diamond Rio Concert at 3 p.m and the street dance at 7 p.m. with the Fabulous Expressions. But, the activities, fun and entertainment are non-stop beginning with the 5K & Fun Runs at 8 a.m. and kids’ activities, music and arts and crafts filling the day with excitement and fellowship.

All Day - in addition to the free concerts... Peanut Industry Exhibits, food vendors, Cupcake Connection, a cake walk and much more!

If the day’s activities aren’t enough to measure up to the theme on this year’s tshirts...Got That Spirit,” the music should light up your spirits!

John Berry

“What an awesome vocalist!” Between 1979 and 1990 John recorded and marketed six albums on his own Clear Sky Records label. Capitol Records signed him in 1992 and he had a string of hits, including “Your Love Amazes Me.”

Cole Taylor

Claude Bell Project

The Claude Bell Project is the brainchild of Blakely’s Claude Bell whose 35-year music career includes stints with Bonnie Blue, The Klones, and Jagged Edge. The “Project,” a four-piece blues/southern rock ensemble includes some of the tristate’s hottest musicians who perform together for a limited number of engagements.

Songwriter Scott Ricks, lead singer Cody Smith, and guitarist John Garrett are an eclectic group of musical talents that has its finger on the pulse of the growing population of music lovers of all genres. You will love listening to their music.

Fabulous Expressions

The Fabulous Expressions are one of the Southeast’s most exciting and successful party and dance bands. The seven-member group, with over 100 years’ combined experience creates a highenergy sound that keeps the crowd moving for hours.

Everything they play is danceable-for ALL age groups!

Farmer Appreciation

The Farmer Appreciation Breakfast will be held Friday morning at the Birdsong Warehouse at 7 a.m. The “Ag Producer of the Year” will be announced at the breakfast. The winner will participate in Saturday’s parade.

Peanut Recipe Contest

The annual Peanut Proud Peanut Recipe Contest will be Friday at the Birdsong Warehouse. Judges will begin sampling at 6:30 p.m. Cash prizes in three categories!
