Warr wins big in shooting competition

Alex Warr competed, Friday, July 27, in the Georgia Outdoor News Youth Big-Buck contest in Duluth, Ga. He entered a buck that he killed with his bow in September of 2017 into the GON contest and won this week. This qualified him for the shoot-out competition.

Alex competed against 16 other youth from around the state that also killed big deer. Each contestant was given a Browning Trail camera. The competition consisted of shooting a Daisy 499 B Champion BB gun. Each competitor had to shoot a full sized skeet, an egg, a mini vanilla wafer, and a Rolaid tablet at 15 and 30 feet.

Alex made it through each round successfully and beat out the last two remaining competitors in the mini vanilla wafer round at 30 feet.

He won the grand prize which consisted of a $3,000 shopping spree at the Adventure Outdoors store and an action-packed turkey and hog hunt in the spring of 2019 with Woods-N-Water in Wrightsville, Ga.

He represented Early County well! Alex is the 16-year-old son of Toby and Brandi Warr.
