Area gymnasts excel in national competition


Kaylee Klesco, of Blakely, is the daughter of Matt and Nicole Klesko and granddaughter of Porter and Marcia Mulkey. Several local girls who are part of the Bainbridge Gymnast-ACats competition team, ended their competition season in the 2018 AAU Gymnastics Nationals.

Three of the girls came home as National Champions with All Around Gold Medals in their age group and division.

Ashna Vickers won All Around National Champion in her division with a score of 36.475, Emily Engram won All Around National Champion in her division with a score of 38.050 and Bailey Nunnery won All Around National Champion in her division with a score of 36.425.

Kaylee Klesko came home an impressive All Around National Runner Up with a score of 37.375, Anna Claire Mock won fourth All Around in her division with a score of 37.125, Lauren Godwin placed seventh in her division with a score of 35.725 and Beth Nunnery took sixth in her division with a score of 36.925.

In addition, Ashna Vickers won a gold medal on Bars with a 9.275, Anna Claire Mock won a gold medal on the floor exercise with a 9.3, Kaylee Klesko won a gold medal on bars with a 9.6 and Bailey Nunnery won gold medals on bars with a 9.225 and vault with a 9.325. Emily Engram also won two gold medals with a first place on floor with a 9.550 and on beam with a 9.825.
