City’s utility damage

The City of Blakely is still in the process of taking inventory of damage to the city’s electrical system by Hurricane Michael.

Patrolling at night, the Police Department has been making a list of damaged street lights, marking damaged poles and identifying other damage. The information is being turned over to the Blakely Electrical Department for replacement and repair.

As of last week, approximately 150 street and security lights which have got to be replaced have been identified. Also destroyed by the storm were 45 to 50 transformers, approximately 75 utility poles and 150 cross arms which hold the power lines.
