John Larry Edwards

John Larry Edwards, 79, of 43 Cherry Ave., Blakely, Ga., passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Edwards was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Seminole County, Ga., to the late Early James Edwards and Elizabeth Thompson Edwards. He was a retired industrial painter at Great Southern Paper Co. He served in the Navy and was of Baptist faith.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marvagene Creel Edwards; a daughter, Bobbie Jean Edwards; a grandson, Geoff White; a sister and brother, Jean Pye and Bobby Edwards.

He is survived by a daughter, Mylinda Edwards White and husband Warren Jr. of Blakely; a sister, Pat James of Warrensburg, Mo., four grandchildren, Jennifer Howard (Anthony), Jodi Temples, Jamey Whiddon (Nick), and Matthew Chancey. He is also survived by 10 great- grandchildren, and a very special friend, Helen Edwards.

The funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Manry-Jordan- Hodges Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Hadden officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington, Ga.

Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on day of funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Howard, Anthony Roberts, Nick Whiddon, Nick Tedder, Billy White and Dennis Chambliss.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
